About the Company

Professional Tax & Financial Services was founded in 1982 by George Simpson. George started his tax career working for Bob Feldman in 1970 on San Fernando Road in Newhall. Bob’s practice was purchased by Triple Check in 1974. George continued to work for Triple Check until 1982, when he purchased the Saugus Triple Check office. In 1999 Triple Check sold the name to Fiducial, a French Company. In 2004 we became independent and became Professional Tax & Financial Services.

George Simpson

George George Simpson is the President and Owner of Professional Tax Services. He was born and raised in Glendale, California. He spent two years in the US Army with the 4th Armor Division in Southern Germany. George graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from California State University Los Angeles in 1965. After graduation, George worked for Lockheed Aircraft, and became a CPA in 1972. He began his tax career in 1971, and has worked in this industry ever since. In 1982 he purchased the Triple Check office and change the name to Professional Tax & Financial Services.

George and his wife Janice moved to the Santa Clarita Valley in 1968, where they raised their three sons, David, Damon and Darren. All three sons are involved with the tax and financial services industry. David owns his own office in San Marcos, California, with Darren working for him. Damon is George’s right hand man, and in charge of managing our office. George and his wife are very active in the ministries of Grace Baptist Church. As a devout Christian, George’s greatest love is for the Lord, followed by his love for his wife and family, his mighty USC Trojans, travel, and of course, golf. When asked how long George plans to work, he responds, “As long as my health and my desire to come to work stays strong, I will be here. When I reach the point of no return, I will put on my blue ‘Wal-Mart’ jacket and greet our clients in the front office.”

Damon Simpson

Damon Damon Simpson is the Chief Operating Officer and owner of Professional Tax and Financial Services. Damon graduated with a Business Administration degree from California State University Bakersfield in 1991. He spent his first two years in the corporate accounting world at Tenent Health Care. His career at Professional Tax Services began in 1993. In addition to being a licensed tax preparer, he is enrolled to practice before the Internal Revenue Service as an Enrolled Agent. Damon has a Series 7, Life, Health, and Disability Insurance License. His Security License allows him to sell stocks, bonds, REITs, Mutual Funds and many other investments. Damon has lived his entire life in the Santa Clarita Valley. He is an avid golfer and hockey player. Damon has been happily married since 2003 to his lovely wife, Rosario.

Sheralyn O'Connor

Sheralyn O’Connor is a CPA and has been one of our highly qualified Tax Preparers since 2005. She graduated in 1982 from California State University Northridge with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She became a CPA in 1985. As a professional in this industry for over two decades, Ms. O’Connor has a strong involvement in the areas of taxation including individual, partnerships, trusts, corporations and estate returns. Clientele in the Santa Clarita Valley and beyond have traditionally reflected a wide range of small, medium, and large-sized businesses including wholesale and retail sales, manufacturing, construction, real estate, entertainment professional services, healthcare and specialty contractors. Her strengths in tax and public accounting have contributed greatly to Professional Tax & Financial Services.

Rich Levinson

Richard Levinson is our newest CTEC Registered Tax Preparer, joining us in 2010. He graduated with an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science. He has worked as a Systems Engineer for IBM Global Systems, managing and maintaining high volume data systems across multiple states. He also has a Technical Certificate in Computer Science. Rich has been married to his wife Lynn since 1986, and has two children. Rich enjoys boating, water skiing, dirt bike riding, and working with computers.

Cindy Bush

Cindy Bush is one of our Accounting and Payroll Services Managers. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California. She has continued her education, taking a number of accounting, computer, and tax classes at UCLA, and she completed the H & R Block Tax Preparation class. She started as a part- time employee during the 1979 tax season assembling tax returns. Her position has evolved into a full-time accounting career. Over her course of employment she has performed almost every job in the office including assembler, checker, and office receptionist. Her accounting responsibilities include preparing financial statements and bank reconciliations, payroll processing with quarterly and year end reports, answering IRS letters for her clients, and tax preparation. As a Christian, Cindy and her husband Mike are active members at Northpark Church. She also enjoys ‘Two-Stepping’ and spending time with her husband and ‘puppies’.

Karen Machgan

Karen Machgan is also one of our Accounting and Payroll Services Managers. Karen took accounting classes at College of the Canyons and UCLA. She started working part time for Bob Feldman in 1971 as a Receptionist. In 1974 when Triple Check bought our office, she began working full time. By 1978 her responsibilities expanded to include bookkeeping and payroll. She was working for Triple Check when George bought the office in 1982, and has been working for George ever since. She has lived in the Santa Clarita Valley since 1964. She is married and has two daughters and five grandchildren.

Cyndi Sandoval

Cyndi Cyndi Sandoval is our Administrative Assistant, joining Professional Tax & Financial Services in 2005. She attended Chabot College in Hayward, California. In 1988, she worked four years as a Proto Type welder at Sanmina SCI, an electronics manufacturing company. Later, she became their Stockroom Receiver, and then worked for six years as their Purchasing Agent. She continued her job as a Purchasing Agent in the high technology industry at Schultz Manufacturing. She moved to Santa Clarita to raise her sons and to be close to family. She co-founded a Costume Rental business, No Strings Attached Costumes, which is still thriving in Santa Clarita. Cyndi is a licensed tax preparer, and can handle any job in the office from daily office procedures to tax preparation.

Kdee Hassen

Kdee Hassen is the Receptionist for Professional Tax & Financial Services. She received her Bachelor of Science in Social Sciences from California State University Chico. After living in several states and countries and working in numerous jobs, she settled in Valencia and started working for Professional Tax Services in 1988. Prior to the office becoming fully computerized, her first position was as checker, manually checking every tax return for theory and math. As a tax preparer she held this position for numerous tax seasons. With her primary career as a full time mother completed, she returned in 2006 to work year round in the front office. Experience as a teacher, travel agent, property manager and realtor expand her personal tax knowledge in many areas.
